High Demand for Engineered Wood Flooring, Signals Economic Recovery?

The surge in demand for high quality engineered wood floors has caught several large manufacturers off guard during October and November, with stocks of popular 3 strip engineered oak and single plank oak products very thin on the ground or even completely out of stock until the new year,

Our Oak Flooring Direct stocks of engineered oak floors are selling through at an unprecedented rate, with most of our stocks of OFD, Norske, Kahrs and Boen floors being delivered to us and dispatched to our customers the same day.

Large manufacturers are struggling to procure and process the raw materials in the required quantities to keep up with the strong consumer purchases.

The strong demand for high quality branded engineered oak flooring is another sign that the green shoots of an economic recovery are stronger than ever. Building materials in general are also reported to be thin on the ground, as suppliers struggle to cope with the surge in demand, even basic materials such as Bricks and Blocks are increasingly difficult to procure, causing some major house builders to buy up entire stocks of supplies in some regions often leaving smaller contractors with no materials to work with.

This increased business is good news for industry and retailers alike but forecasts for the long term requirements for flooring and building materials may become a difficult art, Especially If the current surge does not last. As behind every company the armies of accountants are ever anxious of being caught with surplus stocks and the costs associated with up scaling production.

Here at Oak Flooring Direct we have continued to expand our stock ranges and the Quantity of high quality engineered wood flooring products held in stock to meet with the requirements of our valued customers, and hopefully the recovery will continue with vigour throughout 2014.
