Hot Wood Flooring Trends at Oak Flooring Direct!

It’s been a busy month here at Oak Flooring Direct HQ; with spring in the air and the weather finally showing signs of improvement, our customers have been busy completing their building and decorating projects (and more importantly ordering and installing their real wood flooring!)

Engineered wood flooring by Kahrs and Boen is still the choice of the majority of our customers with the 14-15mm thick oak products still being by far the most popular. With 30 year warranties, durable real wood veneers, stability, ease of installation and great prices it’s easy to see why.

Demand is still very strong for single plank oak products, with sales of these products representing a very high percentage of orders.

Our top selling products in March have been Kahrs Oak Milano, Kahrs Oak Jersey, Kahrs Oak Hampshire and Boen Animoso (138mm and 209mm).

Demand for the Kahrs Oak Milano has been so high that we have sold out of our current stocks - more stocks are on the way but back orders will leave us short of stock until May/June time.

A great alternative with a little more character, and at a fraction of the normal RRP is our Oak Flooring Direct Kahrs Oak Baden. We have secured the last available stocks of this fantastic product **at an unbeatable £35.95 per m2**.

My current personal choice and a firm favourite of our customers is our Kahrs Oak Jersey product, a 15mm engineered board featuring wide boards, long lengths, a bevelled edge and a stunning Nature Oiled finish - a classy looking timeless board.

Interest in hand-scraped and distressed-type finishes is growing and customers are often intrigued by their appearance and tactile finish in our showroom. However, these finishes are often best suited to certain types of location, such as rustic barn conversions and period homes or cottage style properties. Therefore they represent a much smaller proportion of sales. It is also worth noting that such finishes often require more attention when cleaning and maintaining your floor.

We have recently sold a large quantity of Kahrs Oak Old Olive which has been installed into a stunning million pound barn conversion project with exceptional results - as always the right product selected for the right location will always give the best look.
